What's the difference? Isn't a plant a plant?

The biggest single factor in success or failure for a plant is its genetics. Plants can live in scorched deserts, frozen tundra, under water, or in very deep shade. But only certain plants will match certain environments. Plants are bred for disease resistance, productivity, ease of maintenence, and many other factors, so don't waste your time and money buying a plant that doesn't do as well as it can.
